Church of the
Lukumi Babalu Aye
CLBA is focused on three social religious
principles, which we consider essential for the preservation of the Lukumi/Ayoba faith. We
believe that maintaining a professional organization and good character can sustain
our religious and cultural prestige. Prestige in the long run will provide a
longstanding powerful institutional foundation.
CLBA aims to provide an institution to address the
social and religious needs of its members and of clergy members worldwide and to preserve
the Lukumi/Ayoba religious ethics and morals as prescribed in our tenets. CLBA is
primarily centered on the religious education of adherents, clergy, and general public.
The general purpose of this Church is as follows:
- To maintain, own, operate, and have a secured
religious place of worship, according to the teachings of the Lukumi/Ayoba religion.
- To establish a formal setting for the religious
education of adherents, clergy, and general public, according to the Lukumi/Ayoba tenets.
- To hold sessions and ceremonies for the worship of
ancestors.
- To promote and study supernatural phenomena,
according to African based philosophy and religion known as Lukumi/Ayoba
- To perform traditional baptism, marriage, birth rite,
priesthood ordination, death rite.
- To engage in the certification of its ordained
members.
- To take appropriate legal action to ensure our
constitutional protection of religious freedom.
- To elect and appoint officers and agents, as its
affairs shall require.
- To conduct its affairs, and operations in any state
or possession of the United States, or any foreign country.
- To establish affiliations and support with other
corporations or legal entity.
- CLBA represents the following practices in belief
that they are important for the perseverance of the Lukumi/Ayoba religion.
- Explanation of our central dogma as
found in the religious teachings of Ifa.
- Inspiring confidence to provide
relief and assurance through divine explanation which permits us to confront insecurities
and life's challenges.
- Reinforcing customs and values to
preserve our culture.
- Social Integration: Its
important for a group in the society with a common belief and religion, to be unified
under a centralized formal tribal order, for the perseverance of its lineal customs and
traditions.
- Preserve our religious ethics and
morals.
